This is not an another April Fool's day prank. A similar kind of service -hike2post - has been launched by hike - popular free messaging app. As per hike's announcement, they have tied up with the Indian Postal Service to enable free post to all Indian cities and villages to send hike messages.

How does it work?
Just select the audio or video files you want to attach, and upload it. Hike will create cassettes, video tapes, CDs and DVDs, and whatever is necessary to send your media to your friends.You can send a hike message from your phone to someone who doesn't need a phone to receive your hike message. You can send a hike2post by opening the 'Rewards' option from the left menu in hike.
