How to get Indian Railway Schedules on Google Maps ?

You can get Indian Railways schedules as well as updated public transport information for eight Indian cities in Google map. To avail this feature on Google map, you need to enter your destination into Google Maps, click Get Directions button, and then select the Public Transit icon to find which metro, train, or bus options are available to your selected destination. Google Transit, a feature in Google Maps which helps plan public transport trips, is available on Google Maps on Android or iOS device, as well as on desktop.Google Maps' Transit feature will now show schedules for roughly 12,000 Indian Railways trains, apart from updated public transport information for bus and metro routes in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Pune.

Google adds the Street View imagery of the Burj Khalifa [ The world's tallest building ]

Google released the Street View imagery of the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

The imagery was collected over three days using the Street View Trekker and Trolley, capturing high-resolution 360-degree panoramic imagery of several indoor and outdoor locations of the building.

You can watch the highest occupied floor in the world on the 163rd floor, experience being in the fastest-moving elevators in the world (at 22 mph) and check out the highest swimming pool in the world on the 76th floor.

Win Tablets and Phones: Help Google to Make Better Maps Of Your Local Place

Google needs you! Excited? Google India has announced India’s first ever mapping competition: Mapathon 2013. +GoogleIndia invites you to join in creating better Maps for India.

Google invited Google Maps users from all over the country to help by adding knowledge of their neighborhoods through Google Map Maker. The contest is open to just about anybody who lives in India and only edits made in India count. The top 1000 mappers in India stand a chance to win Android tablets, smartphones, gift vouchers and Google merchandise.The top 1000 contestants by number of published edits will receive cool prizes. Mapathon 2013 starts on February 12 and culminates on March 25, 2013.

How does it work

Google Map Maker is an easy-to-use tool that allows users to add more detail to Google Maps through a few simple clicks. Using Google Map Maker, you can select a specific area on Google Maps and add new information based on your own local knowledge or by referencing the satellite imagery on Google Maps. With just another click, you can save and submit your input — and once the submitted edit has been verified, the new information will be added to Google Maps.
