Download ICE - Mumbai Police Emergency App

You can now download ICE – Mumbai Police emergency app on Google Play. This is a Free Android application which is very informative and easy to use. But I am not much impressed with this app. Check out my review.

My expectation was high. I hope this app will soon get some major updates. Otherwise it looks like a usual SOS app. Major complaint about this app is its file size. The actual application size is 2.01 MB. But it goes up to 10 MB when we enter single phone number. SOS siren only lasts 30 seconds. That is not enough. In a good network, GPS and SMS options work fine. But I am not sure it works in emergency. The app has very smooth UI and provides very informative directions to handle a critical situation.

The Google Play description: Our endeavor through this App is to create public awareness about the preparations for the first response in case of identified emergency situations. In that sense, The app worth downloading.

Times Mobile Ltd has released an image recognition augmented reality application for giving the customers a captivating experience that stays in their mind for long. The application transforms text, image, symbols, patterns or objects into a virtual experience and instantaneous content which can range from gaming, social media, WAP pages, AV clip, mobile commerce etc.

How does it work

You need to look for the picture/news articles containing the Alive Logo. Open the alive app, and hold it up in camera mode to the image/text containing the alive logo. Fill the screen with as much of the image as possible – whether an ad, article, photo, label or logo. Hold still, tap to focus if required and enjoy. You can also use the flash feature (works only on supported devices) of the bulb in the corner of the screen to open the flashlight if you are in a poorly lit area. For blackberry and Symbian you need to go to options and then capture the image rather than just holding the phone over the image.

You can use Alive by following a few simple steps.

Step1 - Open the Alive app.
Step2 - Wait for it to sync with the latest content.
Step3 - Hold it up in camera mode to the image you want to recognize.
Step4 - Fill the screen with as much of the image as possible – whether an ad, article, photo, label or logo.
Step5 -Hold still and enjoy

Use the ‘share’ camera icon to share your experiences with friends via Facebook and Twitter.

This app is in beta version. You may face bugs and it is not properly working with some devices. To download go http://aliveapp.in/device.html from your device. As of now Alive is available only on Android v 2.3 and above, IOS 4.3 and above, Blackberry OS 6.0 and above and select phones in Symbian S60v3 and S60v5.
